Welcome to Art with Mrs. Medina!

I’m so excited to welcome students back into the art room this year!

My journey at St. Joseph’s has been incredibly rewarding. I began as a lunchroom volunteer for many years before becoming an aide working with 1st and 2nd grade students. It was during that time I discovered my passion for supporting young learners and helping them grow both academically and creatively. That experience led me to where I am today—serving as the art teacher for Kindergarten through 8th grade, as well as the kindergarten and first grade gym teacher.

As an art educator, I am passionate about creating a space where creativity, individuality, and imagination can thrive. In my classroom, students are encouraged to think outside the box, take risks, and express who they are through their artwork.

I believe art is more than just creating—it’s about building confidence, developing problem-solving skills, and discovering new ways to see the world. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching students grow, especially those who may not believe in themselves at first, and seeing them create something truly amazing.

I feel truly blessed to be part of this school community. Not only do I have the privilege of teaching here, but I have also had the joy of watching my own children grow and experience their journey at St. Joseph’s. With one child now a graduate of St. Joseph’s and another currently in middle school, this community holds an even more special place in my heart. It makes my role here even more meaningful, and I am grateful every day to be part of such a wonderful and special place.
