Please send in your free vote every 24hrs for me if you can...I'd greatly appreciate it. I am so humbled to have made it so far already. It started two months ago with tens of thousands of contestants and now I'm in the top 5. It's amazing.

Math - None (Today we continued to work in our text books on metric length conversion. These numbers were bigger and need more thinking skills to do the correct math. All textbook work and an extra worksheet was done in class and turned into me. 1km = 1,000m, 1m = 100cm, 1m = 1,000mm, 1cm = 10mm....please use your conversion chart handout to help you)

Science - None - Bubis Only (Today we read what erosion and deposition is. Questions to ask:  What is the main force causing erosion?...Gravity is the main force causing erosion.  How do rock particles get moved from place to place?...They are moved by water, wind, and ice.  What is the major cause of erosion along coastlines?...Waves are the major cause of erosion along coastlines. After we were finished with textbook reading, we continued working on our Wonders project in the program called Canva. I have a fun surprise for all parents for when the students are all done with their projects sometime next week. They truly are having fun using Canva. - My classroom will be doing this work tomorrow)

Social Studies - None, but the weekly D.O.G. (Daily Oral Geography) was passed out on Monday and is due by Friday.  (Today I passed out a new book for us to read called, Escape by Night (a Civil War Adventure). We read chapters 1 & 2 and are enjoying it very much so far. Questions to ask... Where does Tommy's and Anna's dad work, and what is his job?... He was a pastor in a Presbyterian Church and worked at a hospital. Why is Annie upset with Samson?...Samson was the family dog that always wanted to be with Tommy and never slept or went by Annie.  Prediction making....Now that Tommy has found the soldier that the book belongs to, what do you predict will happen in Chapter 3?...any reasonable prediction will do)

Upcoming events:

~ Field Trip on May 2nd to Kenosha Public Museum to learn about Native American tribes that lived in Wisconsin and also dissecting Owl Pellets. It's mixture of Science and Social Studies. We also have another Field Trip on May 22nd to the Civil War Museum in Kenosha. This will be a great experience for the students to see artifacts and listen to real life soldier stories as we finish the unit on the Civil War at that time. More info to come for chaperoning by our Room Parent's. Field Trip forms to come home in April. So excited for these opportunities of enrichment.

~ After much research on my end, I have decided to end this year in Science with a bit of Biology. I surprised the students and told them that we will be dissecting a crayfish on May 24th and an earthworm on May 15th. I would say 99% of them were so excited about this. A couple were not thrilled with the idea. Please know that this will not be graded, nor would I make any student do something they do not want to do or feel comfortable doing. This is strictly for fun and is totally optional. If they choose to not participate, they can come to the Science lab with us and read a book in the hallway. I'm very excited about this opportunity for the students.
