Sacraments

A Program of Preparation is provided for students preparing for first reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation. Parent meetings and special family projects supplement the formal program in school. Generally, students receive First Eucharist in Grade 2 and Confirmation in Grade 8. Special lessons and instruction are provided for students who transfer into the school.

As part of preparation for Eucharist, children in second grade, in accordance with diocesan guidelines, are prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This catechesis is usually completed in December. Children are given the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the school year. The decision as to whether a child is in need of or ready to approach the sacrament individually is the responsibility of each parent or guardian to determine.
