Please send in your free vote every 24hrs for me if you can...I'd greatly appreciate it. I am so humbled to have made it so far already. It started two months ago with tens of thousands of contestants and now I'm in the top 5. It's amazing.

Math - None (Today we worked on data plot lines. We created our own data plot line graphs and answered questions that went with them. This was an easy concept for all. They did great! All work was done in class and turned in.)

Science - None - Schiff Only (Today we focused on the question...What is climate? We learned works like; climate, latitude, and elevate.  So, what is climate?...Climate describes the pattern of weather conditions over a long time, at least thirty years.  What area of Earth does the sun's energy hit most directly?...The tropical zone.  Name three factors that can influence climate?...Latitude, elevation and distance from water....after this we went into Social Studies and read chapter 4 & 5 of our Seven Wonders of the Ancient World books and packets. These wonders were: The Statue of Zeus at Olympia AND The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. Miss Bubis's class did this yesterday.)

Social Studies - None (Today we read Chapter 6 of our Seven Wonders of the Ancient World books and answered questioned about it as well. Todays Wonder was about The Colossus of Rhodes. Ask your child to tell you two things they learned about this ancient wonder that no longer exists.)

Upcoming events:

~ Field Trip on May 2nd to Kenosha Public Museum to learn about Native American tribes that lived in Wisconsin and also dissecting Owl Pellets. It's mixture of Science and Social Studies. We also have another Field Trip on May 22nd to the Civil War Museum in Kenosha. This will be a great experience for the students to see artifacts and listen to real life soldier stories as we finish the unit on the Civil War at that time. More info to come for chaperoning by our Room Parent's. Field Trip forms to come home in April. So excited for these opportunities of enrichment.

~ After much research on my end, I have decided to end this year in Science with a bit of Biology. I surprised the students and told them that we will be dissecting a crayfish on May 24th and an earthworm on May 15th. I would say 99% of them were so excited about this. A couple were not thrilled with the idea. Please know that this will not be graded, nor would I make any student do something they do not want to do or feel comfortable doing. This is strictly for fun and is totally optional. If they choose to not participate, they can come to the Science lab with us and read a book in the hallway. I'm very excited about this opportunity for the students.
