- to demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking through the study of inverted sentences, compound subjects, and singular/plural pronouns
- to produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience through editorial/bias writing through newspaper team presentations
Grade 8:
- to demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking through the study of simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences
