Sixth Grade Reading:

• Students will demonstrate mastery of plot elements.
• Students will check comprehension of Latin & Greek unit 2.
• Students will identify central idea in informational text.
• Students will read independent novels.
• Students will visit the school library.

Seventh Grade Reading:

• Students will identify and write about mood in their independent novels.
• Students will begin work on Touching Spirit Bear lit centers including author study, kermode bears, totem poles, restorative justice, Tlingit Indians, and Alaska.
• Students will check comprehension of Latin & Greek unit 2.
• Students will read independent novels.

Eighth Grade Reading:

• Students will continue annotation of Prisoner B-3087 including figurative language, plot and character development.
