6th Grade Science:  Star Systems and Galaxies


Schedule Notes:

  • Tuesday: 6 Black has science and 6 Gold has math.
  • Friday: 6 Black has math and 6 Gold has science.

Star Systems and Galaxies

  • Students will develop and use a model to describe the role of gravity in the motions within galaxies and the solar system.
  • Students will be able to define a star system and identify the major types of galaxies.

We will be learning about star systems and galaxies. Students will complete a lab on Thursday/Friday. There will be a quiz on this lesson the week of May 29th.

 

7th Grade Science: Probability and Heredity


Schedule Notes:

  • There are no block schedules this week.

 

Probability and Heredity

  • Students will evaluate Mendel’s experimental design and describe the results of his experiments.
  • Students will use mathematical representations to define probability and describe how it helps explain the results of genetic crosses.
  • Students will apply scientific principles to explain what is meant by phenotype and genotype.

We will be learning more about probability and heredity. Students will review concepts covered in this lesson. There will be a quiz on this lesson on Friday, May 26th. Please encourage students to thoroughly review all notes and resources available on Google Classroom.


8th Grade Science: Egg Drop Challenge


Schedule Notes:

  • There are no block schedules this week.
  • Tuesday: 8 Black has science first period. 8 Gold has science after Mass.

Newton’s Laws of Motion & the Egg Drop Challenge

  • Students will present their Egg Drop presentations in class
  • Students will conduct their Egg Drop on Thursday, May 25th.
