The initial year of Girl Scouts begins in Kindergarten as a Daisy. Girls are welcome to join troops in any grade, regardless of previous participation. Daisies is open to students in kindergarten and first grades, Brownies for students in grades 2 and 3, Junior Brownies for students in grades 4 and 5, and Cadettes for students in grades 6-8. Meetings are usually held once a month after school. Sign up for Daisies occurs at the beginning of the school year.
