St. Joseph Music Department
Music at St. Joseph's Catholic School -
All classes go over music pertaining to school mass.
Prek-Kindergarten: The students are learning how music is formed and how it is connected to movement. We started this year with name and circle games. Focusing on steady beat and recognizing music notation
1st-5th: The beginning of the year is a general review of circle games and focus in rhythm.
6th-8th: There is a a deep dive into music genres, and emphasis in reading and playing rhythm and pitch.
This year we will be going over an instrument a week. Starting with its conception and adaptation in music through out the years. Look forward to a conversation with your student about the instrument of the week!
