Reminders:
  • Please review the Halloween dress down guidelines that Mrs. Hein sent out. We look forward to a fun and safe Halloween party on Monday afternoon.
  • Tuesday, 11/1 All Saints’ Day → We will attend Mass at 8:30 am
  • Friday, 11/4 No school → Teacher and Staff training day
  • Tuesday, 11/8 Parent Sacrament meeting at 7pm in the Koenig Center
  • Scholastic book orders are due Tuesday 11/15

Religion

Students will:

  • Celebrate and learn about the fest of All Saints on November 1st
  • Learn about different saints
  • Discuss ways we can imitate the way Saints loved God and the way they lived their lives

Math

Students will:

  • Begin a new chapter about number patterns
  • Use patterns to skip count
  • Model skip counting to find the total in equal groups
  • Use a number line to skip count
  • Practice fundamental skills of multiplication

Language Arts

Students will:

  • research and take notes
  • write an informational paragraph using research notes
  • combine sentences in an informational paragraph
  • choose a research topic for informative writing

Reading

Students will:

  • practice decoding words with er, ir, and ur.
  • encode words with -er endings.
  • encode words with r-controlled vowels.
  • read and discuss grade-level literacy texts.

Science

Students will:

  • Learn to identify frog sounds in different environments
  • Identify frogs by their unique sound and investigate the environments where the frogs live
