Religion:

Math:
- Students will:
- Use a number line to count on when adding.
- Use doubles and near doubles to find the sum of addition problems.
- Make a 10 using ten frames to solve addition problems.
- Add three numbers to find the sum.
Language Arts:
- Students will:
- Generate ideas for writing personal narratives
- Plan the beginning, middle, and end of a personal narrative.
- Draft the beginning, middle, and end of a personal narrative.
Reading
- Students will:
- Spell words with -le and -ng endings
- encode the spelling words to complete sentences (CVVC, CVC, CV, CVCe)
- understand and identify nouns and verbs
- practice reading with appropriate stress and natural phrasing
- discuss grade-level fiction texts
Social Studies:
- Students will:
- Continue to learn and read about the three branches of government
- Explain how the voting process is both a right and responsibility
- Learn about fictional political candidates and hold a mock election in class
- Complete voter registration cards
- First Social Studies test will be the week of October 3rd, and the study guide will come home this Friday.
Science: see Social Studies → We will switch back to Science the week of October 11th.

Additional Reminders:
- Tuesday, September 27th = no All School Mass - We will attend Eucharistic Adoration on Tuesday afternoon as a school community.
- Thursday, September 29th = Food Pantry Collection → 2nd grade should bring canned beans. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
